Discover Our Artwork Guidelines
Our artwork guidelines provide essential specifications and tips for submitting the perfect artwork for your embroidered badge.
Maximize Badge Quality with the Right Artwork Guidelines
Creating high-quality custom patches starts with paying careful attention to your artwork guidelines. The quality of your badges depends on selecting the right artwork, using appropriate font sizes, and understanding how different badge types handle design details.
For embroidered badges, simplifying intricate details—like scattered dots or multiple unconnected parts—can result in a cleaner, more professional finish. If you’re considering AI-generated artwork, keep in mind that it’s not always perfect; smudges or unclear shapes can occur, and these imperfections may not translate well in embroidery. It’s often faster and more effective to refine AI designs before submitting. For more tips, see our internal guide on using AI to create high-quality logos.
Following these artwork guidelines will help ensure your design translates beautifully onto your custom patches, whether embroidered, printed, or silicon. Check out our embroidery techniques page for more insights.
Artwork File Formats
Preferred File Formats for Artwork
Vector files are preferred for best results as they maintain sharpness and clarity, ideal for intricate embroidery details.
For the highest quality and precision in embroidery, we recommend submitting your artwork in vector file formats such as EPS, PDF, or AI. Refer to our artwork submission guidelines for more information.
VECTOR
What is a Vector in Artwork Guidelines?
A vector is a file format in which a visual graphic can be scaled endlessly without ever losing quality. Files such as JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and PNG are pixel-based, which means that when you zoom in and out of these files, the quality of the image is compromised.
Here are our preferred artwork requirements:
All files should be created in Adobe Illustrator CC or lower.
Send files as CMYK.
Flattened layers and text outlined. (If you are not sure how to outline the text in your vector file, check out our guide on outlining text.)
Please have all colours Pantone matched to our solid coated swatch palette. (You can find our solid coated Pantone© palette in our colour matching guide.)
For detailed information, please refer to our comprehensive artwork guidelines.
